Are there online or hybrid learning options?
UPRL offers select postgraduate programmes in hybrid delivery mode, allowing working professionals to combine on-campus intensive sessions with online learning. Full online programmes are being developed for future rollout.
What is the teaching methodology at UPRL?
UPRL employs a practice-integrated pedagogy combining lectures, seminars, field projects, industry placements, case studies, and digital simulations. Students work on real-world briefs with industry partners throughout their studies.

UPRL offers over 32 programmes spanning Undergraduate, Masters, and PhD levels within the disciplines of Public Relations, Communication, Journalism, Leadership, Governance, and related fields.
When is the application deadline?
Application deadlines are published annually on our website and through JAMB. We advise applicants to apply early as places are competitive. Check our Admissions page for current deadlines.
Is there a Direct Entry option?
Yes. Candidates with relevant OND, HND, or A-Level qualifications may apply for Direct Entry into 200 Level. The minimum requirement is a Lower Credit for OND/HND or passes in two relevant A-Level subjects.
What is the academic session calendar?
UPRL operates a two-semester academic calendar. The first semester typically runs from September to January, and the second semester from February to June, with examinations, break periods, and convocation included.
How do I apply to UPRL?

What are the entry requirements for undergraduate admission?
Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes (including English Language and relevant subjects) obtained in not more than two sittings from WAEC, NECO, or GCE. A minimum UTME score as specified by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is also required.
What student facilities does UPRL have?
UPRL features a world-class library, digital communication labs, a media production studio, sports facilities, health centre, cafeteria, student union building, Leadership Museum, and the International Conference Centre.
Is on-campus accommodation available?
Yes. UPRL has modern on-campus hostels for both male and female students. Accommodation is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Off-campus options are also available in the surrounding area.
Does UPRL offer career placement support?
Yes. The UPRL Career Centre provides CV workshops, interview preparation, industry networking events, and direct placement support with our partner organizations in media, government, PR agencies, and corporate Nigeria.
What is the graduate employment rate?
UPRL maintains a 92% graduate employment or further study rate within 12 months of graduation, driven by our strong industry partnerships, internship programmes, and career development services.
Do international students need a student visa?
Non-Nigerian students require a valid Nigerian student visa. UPRL’s International Students Office provides full support with visa documentation, acceptance letters, and orientation for arriving international students.
Can international students apply to UPRL?
Yes. UPRL warmly welcomes international students from across Africa and the world. International applicants apply directly through the UPRL admissions portal and must meet equivalent academic entry requirements.
