The University of Public Relations and Leadership is committed to the holistic wellbeing of every student on our campus and online. In line with this commitment, UPRL is proud to announce the official launch of its Comprehensive Student Mental Health and Counselling Programme — free of charge and available to all registered students with immediate effect.
Services Available
- Individual Counselling: Confidential one-on-one sessions with qualified clinical psychologists and counsellors, available Monday–Saturday by appointment.
- Group Therapy Sessions: Weekly facilitated group sessions covering academic stress, transition challenges, identity, relationships, and grief.
- 24-Hour Helpline: A dedicated student support line staffed by trained counsellors around the clock: 0800 UPRL HELP.
- Online Sessions: Remote counselling available for distance and international students via the UPRL Student Portal.
- Wellness Workshops: Monthly workshops on mindfulness, exam resilience, financial stress management, and healthy communication in relationships.
- Peer Support Network: A trained cohort of student peer supporters available across all halls of residence.
How to Access the Service
Students can book appointments directly through the UPRL Student Portal under Student Services › Health & Wellbeing, by emailing wellness@uprl.edu.ng, or by visiting the Student Health and Wellness Centre on campus during opening hours.
All sessions are strictly confidential and subject to professional ethical standards. No information shared in counselling will be disclosed to academic or administrative staff without the student’s explicit consent, except in cases of imminent risk to life.
